The sudden death of sixteen year old Joey Fonseca was killed at Kempsville High School by another sixteen year old drunk driver. This was one of Joey's friends that killed him. The law stating that sixteen years of age is the age that you can start driving is not right. It should be changed to eighteen years old. Teens would get taller if the age limit for driving was raised. There would be less pollution in the air. Lastly, the insurance rate for younger teens is higher, especially for boys. The driving law should be raised to eighteen years old. Teens would get taller if the age limit was raised to 18 years old. Teens grow throughout their teenage years. They go through random growth spurts during this time. If the driving law changes from 16 to 18 years of age, teens would have a chance to grow maybe a couple centimeters or inches. This could change the way a teen drives. Some teens might not be able to see much over the steering wheel, and the teen might grow giving them better visibility.
The earth would also be less polluted. This would be a healthier place because less cars would be bought, if the age limit was higher. The less cars, the less exhaustion goes into the air.
The reason insurance rates are higher for 16 year old drivers is that young drivers are more likely to have an accident compared to drivers of other ages. Statistics and accident records determined this. Teens the age of 16 get into accidents almost six times more often than drivers between the ages of 30 and 59.
If the age limit for driving went up to 18 years old, the world would be safer. It wouldn't just be a safer place, but also a healthier place.
